Amir Khastoo
Amir is a graduate of the University of California at San Diego with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Theatre and Dance. In the dance world, Mr. Khastoo has had the privilege to perform and create work with choreographers Monica Bill Barnes, Allyson Green, Jean Isaacs, and Yolande Snaith. Theatrically, Amir has performed all over California; most notably at La Jolla Playhouse and at the San Diego Repertory Theatre where he had the opportunity to perform alongside Luis Valdez in the world premiere musical /Corridos Remix/.Exploring a career shift to film, Mr. Khastoo is currently filming the Persian soccer feature film /Offside /in Los Angeles/./ Prior film experiences include lead roles in Ronaldo Ochoa’s /Children of the Daylight/ and James Shelledy’s /At First Sight/. Notable awards include the 2002 TOMMY award for student performer of the year, the 2003 Stewart Prize in choreography (/To Mana with /Love), and the 2003 Leandra Smith award for performance.
This is Amir’s fifth year perfoming alongside freakishly talented ladies and gents of bkSOUL. Here’s to another five years of unique performances, boundless creative love and freedom, and long-ass solos!
